A Gift

Friends,

As an expression of my gratefulness to you all for your constant and awe-inspiring support over the past two months, I am excited to offer you a very meager gift today.

Though it is insignificant compared to your financial support, your prayers, your encouraging words, and even your compassionate thoughts, I would like to offer you a brief collection of flash fiction stories that I have written over the years in a short book entitled, “A Little Green Notebook”.

To access this book, please click here. You will be directed to a webpage on Amazon in which you can retrieve your free digital copy. PLEASE NOTE: Amazon will only allow me to list this book as free for 5 days, so please get your copy by August 25! I very badly wish that this was not the case, but to my knowledge, there is no way to list the book as free for more than the first 5 days.

Please be aware that several of these stories contain mature language and themes, some of which may be offensive to readers. As stated in the “About the Author” section, these stories explore themes of violence, oppression, dehumanization, and discrimination. They are written in order to be a voice for peace, compassion, and loving treatment of all members of humanity. It is my opinion that making bold statements through creative means often requires bold and raw language. I understand that there are many who disagree with this opinion.

Peace,
Katie

Celebrating

Donors,

I come to you with a heart bursting with gratitude, excitement, relief, and awe . . . to name a few. Today, I am celebrating, and I hope you will join me in this celebration. I am celebrating the presence of love, the overflow of grace, and the beauty of unwavering support.

Today, as an effect of each of those things, I am also celebrating the reality that  I am returning to Huntington University for my senior year of college, all because of each and every one of you. I have never known grace so personally, so closely, and so deeply.

“Thank you” seems so insignificant compared to the gratitude I have for you all. For now, it will have to do. However, please keep an eye out for another very small way I hope to thank you in the very near future.

Though I plan to keep this website live for at least a few more days, please know that each of the “Donate” buttons have been removed from each page. Thank you for trusting me to communicate with you honestly through out this entire project.

Peace to all,
Katie

*You may be asking, “Have you done everything you can to make your own money to put towards tuition costs?”

For those of you who are, here is my answer:
Simply, no. No, I probably have not done absolutely everything in my power to make as much money as possible over the years. I will readily admit to you that I have chosen lesser-paying jobs in the past because they have allowed me to do work that I believe in, work that is more than just a job, but a means of pursuing goodness. But, what I can tell you is that I have not been without a job since the day I turned 16 years old, and that the majority of my earnings over the past 3 years have been put towards tuition costs. I do believe that I have faithfully pursued employment ever since I was legally able to work, and this has led me to working two or three jobs at a time during many seasons, including those in which I was a full-time student.
